Attempting To Ensure Your Business Remains Safe

In my local city of Birmingham the government of the United Kingdom have already reduced the number of police men and women by a thousand. This is part of their massive campaign of cutbacks up and down the country. Now I do not want to go into the politics of this move or about the politics of the cutbacks in general however I do feel that it is important to write about how this can have a negative impact on one’s business and why we have instructed a retail security company to help.

As an owner of a small business which is based in Birmingham it is essential that I do everything in my power to protect the company and the staff from the criminal elements of our society. When speaking to other small business owners from the local area it is obvious that security is already becoming a big issue. The criminals are seemingly loving the fact that they are now more likely to get away with burgling a property as an example.

Many of my business associates have commented as to how slow the local police are to respond to any call for help that is put to them – this is not so much because they are lazy but is more to do with the fact that they are over-stretched due to the reduction in staff – as mentioned above.

As in any financial crisis, like the one we are facing today, the types of crime of theft and burglary do increase some what and an over stretched police force is the last thing that we need.

This is why I have now added additional security to my small business in the form of two more security guards and this is why I would also advise the readers of this article to think about the security of their company.
