Where do I buy my new laptop? Dell.com? Ebay? where can I get more for my buck?

I know Dell.com offers coupons all the time for selected laptops, so I'll consider a Dell. I also know that laptops go on eBay for well below "book" value. What is the best place for me to find a laptop? Where can I find a quality machine for the CHEAPEST? Also, any specific suggestions since the models are concerned are welcome! Thank you!

The answer depends on how you use the computer. If you do consider yourself knowledgible PC Hardware … DO NOT use eBay. I sell there all the time …. but you know what you watch. Tell a friend in your Local Area … who bought a computer and is happy with what they got. Dell is a good place to buy, and they may even advise you on what you need by asking you some questions about how you plan to use it (they are trained to do this). They tend to try to "upsell" you more than you need, but you should not buy time. Reflect on their recommendation for a day or 2. If it suits your budget, their recommendations are generally sound. Call maybe a couple of times … you get a different technology and whether the adviser matches … It would add to my confidence. Repudiated a chain of stores can be a viable option if you have one around …. if they have quality vendors.
