Would you recommend purchasing a GPS unit abandoned?

I'm in the market for a GPS. Looking to buy a Garmin Nuvi 350. However, they are abandoned and the only place where I can find is on Ebay. Since they are discontinued, recommend you buy it? Does this cannot say that the updated maps? How big an effect this will have on its future use? Please help

It is relatively safe to buy a discontinued GPS receiver. If the nüvi 350 has a slot for SD card on it, you can update the maps without a problem. Just make sure the card you buy is compatible with the 350. Being removed, the only potential problem is that Garmin may not update the interface (firmware and user functionality) as often as they did when the 350 is a new model. However, I have seen updated firmware Garmin Question for those units that were 5 years old.
