iPhone 3G unlocking issues?

Well, I'm considering buying an iPhone 3G from eBay. Just used, but not unlocked and jailbroken, and it comes with nothing but the charger. I am tempted, but I am not 100% sure of what I do. So firstly, When I plug the iPhone 3G in my computer, I presume it will say "No SIM card activated, please contact iTunes "or something along the lines of that. And then all I have to do is click restore Quarter Restaurant to 3.0, then jailbreak it … and once I that, it will no longer say: "No SIM card activated" and then I can go into Cydia and unlock it, right? I'm pretty sure this is how I'll do, but I need to make sure people who know … So long story short — Buy, connect it with iTunes, it'll say no enabled Sim, I move click restore / jailbreak, he'll never say no SIM activated, and then I'll be able to unlock it through Cydia. .. Sorry this took so long, best answer gets 10 points!

If it is unlocked, you burst your SIM card in and it will work. Nothing else is necessary. If not, just go to Cydia sources and repo666.ultrasn0w.com entry Ultrasn0w and install from there.
