Before bidding on a military cap badge for sale on eBay, here are some tips that may help you stop being left with an expensive restrike cap badge or copy.

Check the seller does not give the impression they know what they are talking about when it comes to badges military. If yes, then they should have a reasonable idea of the value and worth of the badges they sell.

To simplify this point is an idea approximately what you should expect to pay:

To relight or copy British insignia that can be easily found on the Internet, (? Do a search for restrike badges). The price of these badges should be between 3 to  £  £ 6 pounds by the regiment, age and rarity the cap badge.

Now below are the prices you should expect to pay for a cap badge from an original collector military or a broker who knows his business, should be:

Any Corps badges about 5 to € .. Â £ £ 8.

Infantry Regiment badges .. Â Â £ 7 to £ 12 pounds.

The rarest Yeomanry badges .. About  £ 15 to  £ 20 + books.

And the cavalry Cap badges ..  £ 15 to  £ 20 + pounds upwards. these are just the average floor price give or take a little.

An Irish regiment, including those dismantled after the 1st World War, the independence of the Republic of Ireland are very rare as to be starting a premium of around £ 20 + pounds. As regimental insignia created in the 1930s, then dissolved the end of World War 2.

So if you feel that the seller knows what they sell, you should ask yourself why are they so eager sell a 20 + cap badge book for peanuts.
